TB Wood's MTO Sheaves for Pellet Mill Drives
A leading manufacturer of pelletizing equipment, located in the Western U.S., was looking for particular custom-sized sheaves for use on its larger belt-driven pellet mills. The mills produce pellets from a variety of material, including feed, fertilizer, cardboard and plastic at a rate of up to 12,000 lbs. per hour.
The OEM contacted TB Wood’s based on their reputation as the “large sheave experts”. After a careful review of the customer’s application to ensure that proper sheave sizes were specified based on the drive parameters, TB Wood’s was able to provide exactly what the customer was looking for at a competitive price.
TB Wood’s shipped the high-quality, Made-To-Order (MTO) 42 in. dia. and mated 9.4 in. dia., 14-groove cast iron sheaves at intervals adjusted to meet the customer’s production schedule. The custom-cast sheaves feature machined center and mounting holes.
The success of this multi-year sheave contract has led to additional MTO sheave orders from this customer.
